Susquehannock performs “Puffs”

By: Ava Silliman

Puffs was performed from Friday, November 22nd to Sunday, November 24th. Puffs, or Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a certain school of Magic and Magic, is based on Harry Potter but is centered around the Puffs, who dislike Harry Potter. Puffs is the story of a young Hufflepuff who attended this school.

On Playbill.com, Ruthie Fieiburg wrote, “It’s a play that establishes its own tone of wacky, scrappy, hilarious, and heartfelt as it creates the untold story of kids just trying to go to school.” This quote is a perfect definition of the show and its unique untold story. The Puffs are outcasts who are getting to tell their own stories.

The cast and crew were all very excited to perform Puffs. The show went well and the cast and crew worked well together to perform an exciting show.

Puffs is centered around Wayne Hopkins played by Michael Parmer. Wayne’s newfound friends are Oliver Rivers played by Michael Daiuto and Megan Jones played by Cassidy Bolio.

An exciting part of the show is when Voldy (Lord Voldemort) appears in the second act. Played by Owen Mechling, Voldy offers an entertaining and funny side of Voldemort that is not typical for this character.

Puffs went to the ITS state festival on January 4th. This is a state thespian festival for high school plays across the state. The cast and crew rehearsed over the holiday break to prepare for this festival.

Looking forward, this year’s spring musical is Cinderella, a Broadway adaptation of the original musical. There are several twists in this version of Cinderella that are different from the original version. Cinderella will be performed from April 3rd through April 5th, so be sure to save the date.
